Apple Suspends Sales of Products of Its Product in Russia
Due to the escalating invasion of Ukraine, Apple Inc. has made a big announcement: all product sale in Russia will be suspended. The IT giant responded by taking this action after expressing extreme worry over the circumstances.
Apple's move coincides with growing public pressure on internet corporations to take action against Russia. Prior to now, the Ukrainian government has asked Apple to discontinue providing the app store in Russia.
All of Apple's products, including the iPad, MacBooks2, and iPhone, are suspended. Apple's action highlights the economic consequences of the Russian takeover of Ukraine, that are beginning to affect Russia's core economy—its consumers.
Apart from halting sales, Apple has restricted access to digital services such as Apple Pay within the Russian Federation. Additionally, there are restrictions on the availability of Russian state media applications outside of the country.
"We stopped all exports into our sales channel in the country last week," said Apple. There aren't many services, like Apple Pay. Outside of Russia, you can no longer download RT News and Sputnik News from the App Store.
The international community is keeping a careful eye on the situation as it develops. It is unclear how these suspensions will affect the tech sector overall and the Russian economy in particular.
